From Backyard Movie Nights to Community Events: How R.C. Movie Rental Grew in Southern California

When R.C. Movie Rental launched in 2020, outdoor entertainment had a different meaning. Families were looking for ways to gather safely, celebrate milestones and create experiences without relying on traditional indoor venues. Outdoor movie nights became a natural answer, and that demand helped shape the company’s earliest services.

The business built its reputation around transforming ordinary spaces into temporary theaters. Inflatable screens, 4K projection, large-format sound and lounge seating created a private cinema atmosphere in backyards, parks and community spaces.

As customers began asking for more complete event packages, the company expanded. Popcorn machines, giant games, inflatable seating and photo booth services gave clients more ways to build an entire event around the movie rather than simply renting a screen.

That expansion also opened the door to a wider range of customers. R.C. Movie Rental began working with schools, homeowners associations, community organizations, senior communities, businesses and event partners in addition to private birthday parties and family celebrations.

One example of that growth is the company’s work supporting Cinema & Soul events at Dulan’s on Crenshaw. The recurring series combines movies, food and community in a setting designed to feel social and celebratory. R.C. Movie Rental has supported events in the series with outdoor cinema equipment and related entertainment services.

The business remains family-operated and rooted in the Inland Empire, while its service area now reaches across Southern California. That balance has become part of the company’s identity: local enough to build personal client relationships, but equipped to handle larger and more visible events.

R.C. Movie Rental is continuing to develop partnerships with schools, community organizations, HOAs, restaurants and businesses that want recurring movie nights, photo booth activations and family-friendly entertainment. The company is also investing in its online presence so customers and potential partners can find accurate information about its services, event history and community work.

For R.C. Movie Rental, the story is still being written. The original backyard movie concept remains at the center of the brand, but the company has grown into something broader: a mobile event experience built around movies, photographs, games, comfort and shared time.
